Side Event Description: In this context, INTERPOL and UNODC have joined forces to work together in designing a strategy to fight offences related to online child sexual abuse or child sexual exploitation material. This side event will present UNODC- INTERPOL’s joint strategy to strengthen the fight of crimes against children. It will also highlight how both organizations support regional implementation through unique operational platforms such as its Latin America Desk.
This strategy, which includes a specific Model of Work, aims to establish common legal and operational standards, enhancing global capacities to respond to this type of cybercrime, enabling the interoperability of actions and responses by state actor, civil society, international organizations and the private sector, all in all boosting the use of technology-driven solutions to address technology-based criminality.
This side event will present UNODC INTERPOL’s joint strategy to strengthen the fighting of crimes against children. It will also highlight how both organizations support regional implementation through unique operational platforms such as its Latin America Desk.
